It’s all about MP3 tag, information that media players use to view titles, names, and other music file data, which are not always compiled correctly.

An unsolvable problem? Of course not! There are so many programs in the network to compile and edit MP3 tag, many of which are able to automatically recognize tracks and fill in all MP3 tags correctly in the shortest time. Here’s somebody who will definitely help you better organize your digital-music collection.

The first one to compile and edit the MP3 tags I want to talk about is The Crab, a small but powerful software that will help you retrieve all of your MP3 files simply by selecting the folder where they reside (clicking on the Open button). The program is particularly suitable for albums and allows you to edit MP3 tags simply by selecting the files and clicking the Edit button on the toolbar.

To download The Crab on your computer, link to the main program page and click on Download (top) and then Download thecrab-0.2.0-win32.exe. After the download is complete, double-click the file that you just downloaded and, in the window that opens, click I Agree first (to accept the program’s usage conditions) and then click Next, Install and Close to complete installing The Crab on your computer.

As part of the programs to compile and edit the free MP3 tags, MusicBrainz Picard is undoubtedly one of the best. With it, you can correct all your music tracks automatically (by selecting Scan from the Tools menu) or manually (using the form located at the bottom right) and save it all in a handful of seconds by clicking on Save button.

To download MusicBrainz Picard on your PC, link to the main program page and click picard-setup-0.12.1.exe. When the download is complete, double-click on it, the file you just downloaded, and in the window that opens, click Next. Then accept the program’s usage conditions by clicking the I Agree button, and then click Next and then Install and Finish to finish the installation process and start MusicBrainz Picard.

TuneUP Media is certainly the best among the programs to compile and edit MP3 tag, but has the ” flaw ” of not being free. There is a trial version of the software that allows you to correct the 100 track information and download the covers of 50 albums without spending a penny: just install it, launch Windows Media Player or iTunes and drag the songs to be corrected in the program window which appears on the right.

To download the trial version of TuneUP Media to your computer, link to the program’s main page and click the red Try TuneUP for Windows button (on the right). When the download is complete, double-click the downloaded file (TuneUpInst-1.9.0.exe) and, in the window that opens, click on OK first, then Next, Accept, Next, Install, and Finish install the program on your PC.
