How to view Contacts on iTunes

You need to access the address book of your iPhone, but at the moment you do not have the phone at hand, so you thought to look for the panel related to synchronization of contacts with the PC in iTunes but unfortunately you could not find any name. Well, know that it’s normal.

Even if data synchronization with the PC is done through iTunes, contacts from iPhone and other Apple devices are saved on iCloud and in applications that manage the address book on Windows and Mac OS X, not directly in iTunes. This means that if you want to find out how to view contacts on iTunes, unfortunately you cannot do. You have to act differently, let’s see together how.

If you were looking for a method of how to view contacts on iTunes, you do not have to launch the famous Apple application that is installed on your PC / Mac, but you have to open the browser and connect to the iCloud website. In fact, being synchronized online via iCloud, contacts transferred from the iPhone to the computer can be accessed from the web panel of Apple’s cloud storage service.

Then log in to the service using the data of your Apple ID (the same you use when you need to download an app on the iPhone) and click on the Contacts icon to view the list of all your contacts directly on the PC without going through iCloud or no other desktop application.

You can also add new contacts to the address book by clicking on the button located at the bottom right, and export the selected contacts as a vCard file by clicking on the gear icon located at the bottom left and selecting the Export vCard item from the menu that appears. All changes will be automatically synchronized on iPhone and computers through iCloud.

Contacts on iTunes

If you have not yet synchronized iCloud with your iPhone contacts, or you do not have access to the Internet at the moment, you can view contacts on iTunes by going to retrieve them from the applications that iCloud uses to synchronize the address book between your phone and computer.

If you use a Mac, the default application with which iCloud and iTunes synchronize contacts on Apple mobile devices is Contacts. You can find it on the first page of the Launchpad or by searching it through Spotlight, and it has the same graphic interface as the online address book seen before on the iCloud website.

If you use a Windows PC, the application where you can find iPhone contact is Microsoft Outlook. You can turn on or off the synchronization of iCloud contacts with Outlook by opening the iCloud control panel (find out how to install it by following my guide on how to use iCloud) and putting a check mark next to Mail, Contacts, calendars and tasks.
