How to burn a CD with iTunes

iTunes is one of the most popular programs to listen, manage and organize music in a digital format (MP3, AAC, etc.) in the world, but not everyone knows that it can also be used to create dear old music CDs, the ones that can be read without problems even in the stereo of the machine and in older devices.

I bet you also did not notice this interesting feature of Apple software, which is why I want to quickly explain how to make an audio CD with iTunes without unnecessary waste of time or steps in complicated programs for burning. Are you ready to start?

The first step you need to take if you want to find out how to make an audio CD with iTunes is to start the famous Apple program and create a new playlist containing the songs you want to burn. To create a new playlist, click on the File menu of iTunes, select the item New playlist from the menu that appears and type the name you want to assign to your new playlist (eg. audio CD).

At this point, go to the Music section of your library and drag the songs you want to insert into your music CD with the mouse in the name of the playlist at the bottom of the left sidebar. When the operation is complete, click on the name of your playlist in the left sidebar and make sure that the total duration of the songs you have chosen (indicated in the lower center) does not exceed the capacity of the empty CD on which you will burn them. A maximum of 80 minutes of music is available on a standard 700MB CD.

Once you’ve refined the playlist with all the tracks you want to burn, insert an empty CD into your PC burner and select the Burn Playlist to Disc item from the iTunes File menu (the playlist must be open to view this item). In the window that opens, make sure that there is a check mark next to the CD Audio, set in the drop-down menu Distance between tracks the number of seconds of silence that there must be between a track and the other on the disk and click on the Burn button to make an audio CD with iTunes.

The duration of the recording depends on the duration of the tracks you have decided to insert in your CD and the chosen burning speed (you can set it through the Preferred speed drop-down menu). If you want, with iTunes you can also create data CDs / DVDs with MP3 instead of standard audio CDs by selecting the appropriate item from the window with the burn settings. Good fun!
